Green Curves Design

Livestock Services

As land planners, we welcome the challenge of designing and implementing certain and specific elements of an enterprise or project.

Our governing principle for planning livestock management is to restore grassland ecosystems through the use of grazing ruminants while increasing economic viability and long-term stability to support livestock enterprise. we select from a diversity of proven techniques and methodologies which are most relevant to the projects context and site conditions. Those applying our principles and methodologies can expect to improve long-term profitability and financial resilience, experience enhanced performance in livestock, in ecological function, in soil health, and in the operation in general.

WE CAN OFFER A RANGE OF LAND PLANNING SERVICES RELATED TO LIVESTOCK MANAGEMENT:

Depending on Locality
Following an initial conversation this is a one-day assessment and exchange to meet the client/clients and the team, understand the context, and share ideas. These meetings can include:
  • A short presentation
  • Example designs
  • Conference call
Generating Base Information
Topographical survey conducted through various means to determine spatial information in the form of landscape features, elevations, and other landforms for a myriad of practical applications during the design process. The survey provides an accurate depiction of the site which is both scaled and detailed and will be used to create three dimensional models.
Making sense of the Data
The topographical data generated during the survey is only useful when analysed and understood properly. The analysis is an interpretation projected in many forms from the information gathered during the survey. This step involves a detailed examination of potentially complex information. A reductionist process of separating the various elements which constitute a landscape to be able to understand the patterns and order which are its fundamental reality.
Developing the Ideas of the Project

The design phase can incorporate different stages depending on the project objectives and the relationship between all of the parties involved.

Concept Stage

This is where the initial ideas for the project are developed, shared and presented for feedback. The main objective of this stage is to develop documents that provide the client/s with an understanding of the proposed spatial arrangement, programs, functions, constraints, opportunities and overall layout.

Detailed Design

Design Development

This is where the initial concept is refined to provide the client with a detailed an accurate plan of what is being proposed.

Technical Data

This is where documents are developed that include specific information and data that is required so that the design can be successfully implemented. Technical details are presented as plans, sections, schedules, quantities, and specifications often coordinated with other consultants where design responsibilities overlap.
Ideas to Reality
Implementing the proposed design scheme is a process of converting the final plan into something real. Installation of all of the elements and systems which constitute the design occurs in phases as people, financial and other specific resources are in place. The implementation process can move linearly or nonlinearly depending on the environmental conditions, biological constraints and the human element.
Evaluating changes in the landscape
A monitoring program is a complementary component to measure the success of any project. The monitoring method and technique should be developed and applied to represent the uniqueness of the situation and allow for periodic reporting and assessment in compliance with the techniques and methodologies being used.
