Our approach to regenerative landscape design is a systematic process understood as a series of prioritised fields which establishes the greatest level of potential from any given site.
A decision-making hierarchy of individual layers which organises the navigational mechanism of complex decision making inherent in the regenerative development of land based enterprises.
This decision-making hierarchy of design layers organises landscape features according to their relative permanence concerning our ability to influence them in relation to a projects objective. Each of the fields or layers within the hierarchy are interrelated parts of a whole that exhibit dynamic interplay between all its levels.
As design decisions are made relative to these fields within the hierarchy a pattern emerges which integrates itself onto a landscapes topography which characterises the projects context and responds to the sites prevailing conditions. At the same time we are maintaining the integrity of fundamental ecological processes.
Our design approach has been established in relation to P.A. Yeomans ‘Keyline Land Planning System’ and more specifically, the ‘Scale of Permanence’
By adopting this approach to landscape development, we are able to offer a complete design system for landscapes which can be successfully applied to all land-based enterprises. This organising pattern is directed
by the first two FRAMING LAYERS.
